BBQ in the backyard was not a culture growing up in India. We could walk over to roadside restaurants and get Tandoori fix. There is a variety of Tandoori food that is available on the roadside Dhabas. I remember when it became fashionable to go with friends and family, hang out and tailgate at the restaurants near India Gate and savor the tikkas, seekh kababs, boti kabab and grilled seasonal vegetables with the hot naan pulled out of the Tandoor. Here’s a Tandoori menu from Delhi, my hometown!
Tandoori Chicken Kababs – Pieces of chicken marinated overnight in yogurt, ginger, garlic, chaat masala, Garam masala, lemon juice green chillies and creme.
Marinated fire-grilled colorful vegetables like zucchini, squash, bell peppers, onions and tomatoes. Crunchy and flavorful.
